Background tasks

CLion displays a progress bar for all time-consuming tasks, such as code analysis or VCS update. To bring the execution to the background, click the Background button:

Even after the task is brought to the background, you can still view its progress. For this, do one of the following:

In the Status bar, click :
Call Window | Background Tasks | Show from the main menu.

As a result, the Background Tasks manager opens, showing all the tasks that are currently running in the background.

You can review their progress, and if necessary, cancel the unnecessary tasks by clicking .

If you check the Auto Show option in Window | Background Tasks, the Background Tasks manager will open automatically every time a task is launched in the background.
