Code Inspection: Empty index operator not supported for strings

Configure inspections: Settings | Editor | Inspections

Show intention actions: AltEnter

Reports the usages of empty index operator ([]) on strings.

Starting from PHP 7.1, applying the empty index operator on a string throws a fatal error.

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Place the caret at the highlighted line and press AltEnter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
