Code Inspection: 'str*()' calls can be replaced with PHP 8 'str_*()' calls

Configure inspections: Settings | Editor | Inspections

Show intention actions: AltEnter

Reports the strpos and substr functions calls that can be replaced with the str_* functions calls (introduced in PHP 8.0).

See str_contains (php.net) and str_starts_with and str_ends_with functions (php.net) for details.

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Place the caret at the highlighted line and press AltEnter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
