Code Inspection: Regular expression can be simplified

Configure inspections: Settings | Editor | Inspections

Show intention actions: AltEnter

Reports regular expressions that can be simplified.

Example:

[a] xx* [ah-hz]

After the quick-fix is applied:

a x+ [ahz]

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Place the caret at the highlighted line and press AltEnter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
