Enterprise License Expiration

Last modified: 20 April 2023

TeamCity is available in two editions - TeamCity Editions. When an Enterprise license expires, or the license key is removed, TeamCity automatically switches to the Professional mode, which brings several limitations, as described at the TeamCity Editions page.

To renew the enterprise license you can buy the enterprise license.

If you've decided in favour of the Professional mode when the Enterprise license expired, note that several feature changes take place when TeamCity switches from Enterprise to Professional mode. Additionally no builds will be run if your setup exceeds any of the Professional mode limitations.

Feature Changes when Switching from Enterprise to Professional Mode

Roles and Permissions

  • System and Project Administrators get non-configurable Administrator role in Professional mode. In fact, this fixed role is assigned to any user with the EDIT_PROJECT permission in his account.

  • Project Developers and Agent Developers become "Users" in Professional mode.

  • Guest users, no matter how they were configured in the Enterprise mode, get the default guest users settings from the Professional mode.

Number of Users, Build Configurations or unsupported User Authentication If your setup exceeds any of the Professional edition TeamCity Editions, no builds will be run until the limitations are met.
