Changing user password with default authentication scheme

The following procedure is suitable for default authentication scheme and default database (HSQLDB) only.

To change user password:

  1. Shutdown server

  2. Switch to the < TeamCity home >/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib directory

  3. Invoke the following command: Windows platform: java -cp server.jar;common-api.jar;commons-codec-1.3.jar;util.jar;hsqldb.jar ChangePassword <username> <new password> <TeamCity data directory> Unix platform: java -cp server.jar:common-api.jar:commons-codec-1.3.jar:util.jar:hsqldb.jar ChangePassword <username> <new password> <TeamCity data directory>

    tip

    You can skip the < > option, if you are using default path for TeamCity data files: <user home>/.BuildServer
