Root Project

The <Root project> in TeamCity is a container for all other projects and their configurations. The <Root project> is created by default; any project created in TeamCity is a subproject in relation to the <Root project>.

The <Root project> is used to configure settings be used globally (across all the subprojects), i.e. permissions, VCS roots, configuration templates, parameters, shared resources, meta-runners, notification rules.

The <Root project> is visible only to TeamCity administrators, the users can see other projects based on the roles assigned.
