For seven years, our commitment to understanding evolving technology has fueled the State of Developer Ecosystem Report. This release encapsulates insights from a survey of over 26,000 respondents globally.

We target our survey ads (on platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, Baidu, Reddit, Quora, Codefund, and others) in order to get responses from specific countries and from users of specific programming languages. Combining these methods allows us to get an objective picture of today’s developer world.
To minimize possible bias against non-English-speaking respondents, we make our surveys available in up to eight languages, typically including French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Turkish.
We perform up to three stages of weighting to get a more unbiased picture of the worldwide developer population.
More than 500,000 developers have taken part in our surveys since 2012. In just this past year over 60,000 developers from 150 countries have participated in our three large-scale surveys.
