Licensing explained

Free plan for up to 10 users

The YouTrack free plan is for teams of up to 10 users and comes with 30 GB of storage. It provides all of the functionality available with paid subscriptions except for a custom logo, which is only available with paid subscriptions.

AI Assistant

All YouTrack Cloud customers, including small teams using YouTrack for free and YouTrack Server customers with active subscriptions, have access to free credits for AI-powered features. These credits are replenished weekly. Later on, we’re planning to offer additional credits purchases for teams who need more than the free amount. Paid subscriptions for 11+ users and 4+ support agents

You can switch seamlessly from a free plan or trial to a paid subscription at any time and keep all your current YouTrack data.

The more users you have, the less you pay per user. Monthly subscription prices start from $4.40 per user/month for 11 users, and gradually decrease to $1.10/ per user/month for 10,000 users. With an annual subscription, you save 2 months worth of costs. Annual subscription prices start from $3.67 and decrease to $0.92 per user/month.

If you use YouTrack Helpdesk, the price per agent is fixed at $5 per agent/month for monthly subscriptions and at $4.50 per agent/month for an annual subscription for support teams of 4 support agents or more.

YouTrack Helpdesk pricing

You can start using YouTrack Helpdesk for free with 3 support agents and unlimited reporters – customers who submit tickets. If you need 4 or more support agents, you can switch to a paid monthly or annual subscription. Each support agent also requires a user license. For example, if your team consists of 30 members and 25 of them are regular users and 5 are support agents, you will pay for 30 users and 5 support agents for your YouTrack subscription.

Monthly subscription

With a monthly subscription, you pay at the end of each month for the maximum number of active user accounts in your YouTrack during that month. Banned user accounts are not included in the billing calculation.

Annual subscription

With an annual subscription, you pay in advance to use YouTrack with a fixed number of users at a discounted rate. While your subscription is active, you can add up to 50% more users. You will be billed for these additional users at the end of the 12-month subscription period. Billing for additional users is calculated at the standard monthly subscription rate and is only applied to active users. Banned users are not included in the billing calculation.

Post-paid users are available as long as you have a valid payment method assigned to your YouTrack subscription. Contact the sales team to learn more.

YouTrack Pricing

If you purchase an annual YouTrack Cloud subscription from a JetBrains reseller, you cannot add post-paid users to your subscription. To add more permanent users at any time, please contact your reseller or the JetBrains sales team.

Storage capacity

1 user = 3 GB

The YouTrack free plan comes with 30 GB of storage. With paid subscriptions, you get 3 GB of storage per user.

You can’t purchase extra storage separately, but you can increase your storage allowance by adding more users to your subscription.

Free trial: 14 days with 100 users

Once you’ve registered a free YouTrack plan for up to 10 users, you can start a 14-day trial with up to 100 users, 50 support agents, and 30 GB of disk space to see how YouTrack works at scale. No credit card required.

After the 14-day trial period expires, your YouTrack will return to the free plan with 10 users and three support agents.

Any additional users created during the trial are saved for 30 days. You can upgrade to a paid subscription and continue working with all the users and data you added at any time during the trial and up to 30 days after it ends.

Legacy Cloud subscriptions

Customers with old-style Cloud subscriptions (with packages of users) can continue to renew their subscriptions indefinitely, but they will not be able to change the number of users or the storage limit, nor will they be able to use YouTrack Helpdesk. If you have one of these subscriptions and you wish to make such changes or use YouTrack Helpdesk, you need to change to the new per-user subscription. We offer an extra three months free in the first year if you switch to a new per-user annual subscription.

Migration from Cloud to YouTrack Server

YouTrack Cloud instances are hosted and maintained by JetBrains in our secure cloud infrastructure.

You can migrate all of your data from YouTrack Cloud to YouTrack Server at any time.

Backups in case of inactivity

If you don't use your YouTrack for a while, it will be automatically removed. The timeframe for removal depends on your plan: 1.5 months for trial plans, 3.5 months for free plans, and 6.5 months for paid plans. We'll keep a backup of your data for up to 6 months after removal, just in case you decide to return.

Perpetual license, support, and updates

A YouTrack Server license lets you install one instance of YouTrack on your own server and use it forever. The perpetual license for up to 10 users and three agents is granted for free, and you may use all available updates for the free installation. A perpetual license to use more users or agents will require purchasing a user pack subscription, which includes the perpetual right to use YouTrack for the respective number of users and agents, support, and product updates for this extended installation for a one-year subscription period. You can update your YouTrack to any version that was released during the validity period of your subscription, even after it expires. If you have multiple YouTrack instances, each instance must have its own license.

AI Assistant

All YouTrack Server customers with active user pack subscriptions have access to free credits for AI-powered features. These credits are replenished weekly. Adding more users and support agents

You can increase your YouTrack user and support agent limit at any time while you have a free license or an active user pack subscription by purchasing a user pack subscription upgrade. You can also purchase a user pack subscription upgrade up to one year from your subscription expiry, in which case the user pack upgrade price will include a one-year subscription extension. User pack subscriptions cannot be combined. You should purchase the smallest user pack subscription that includes the number of users you need. For example, you cannot combine a 25- and 50-user pack subscription to enable YouTrack for 75 users. You should purchase a 100-user pack subscription instead.

Free 60-day trial

You can easily start a 60-day trial with up to 10,000 users and 100 support agents to see how YouTrack Server works at scale. No credit card is required.

After your 60-day trial period expires, YouTrack will go back to the free plan with 10 users and 3 support agents. You can upgrade to a paid subscription at any time during the trial and continue working with all the users and data you’ve already added.

Extending a subscription

When your subscription expires, you will not be able to update your YouTrack instance to newer versions released after the date your subscription expires. In order to have continued access to updates and support, you can extend your subscription for another year at less than the cost of a new license. Subscription periods run consecutively, so your extension will begin from the day after your last subscription expired, not from the date of purchase. If your previous subscription expired a year or more ago, you can buy a new user pack subscription to restore your access to updates and support.

YouTrack Helpdesk pricing

You can start using YouTrack Helpdesk for free with three support agents and unlimited reporters (e.g. customers who submit tickets). If you need four or more support agents, you can switch to a paid subscription. Each support agent also requires a user license. For example, if your team consists of 25 members and 20 of them are regular users and five are support agents, you will pay for a 25-user pack and five support agents for your YouTrack subscription.
