Use YouTrack 2020.2’s Knowledge Base to collect, discuss, and share a wealth of team experience and documents internally and publicly. Other improvements include field type conversions, project-based visibility settings, and enhanced user experience when creating boards and working with issues.
Have you ever thought of keeping all your product documentation and personal notes together, right near your issues and projects? YouTrack now includes Knowledge Base, a project collaboration tool where you can add project plans, team policies, and meeting notes. Group them by project and structure them in page trees, and decide who will have access to the workspace. Organize everything your way – for example, manage requirements and plan future releases with tables and checklists, or discuss your team-building activities with gifs and embedded videos.
Build an awesome public knowledge base with guides and FAQs for your users. Share your team’s collective knowledge as texts, videos, or gifs, to bring the best user experience to your customers and colleagues. Let them find answers in one click using powerful full-text search, take part in discussions in comments, and never lose an idea with the article history feature.
While setting up a custom field for issues, administrators specify the field type that dictates the type of values that are stored in the field. String, text, date, period, integer, user, group, or build number – you choose what’s most appropriate for your issues.
Now, even more custom field types can be converted from one into another at any time during your project lifecycle, without losing the values they contain.
Now administrators can specify a default visibility group – a group of users to whom all the new issues created in a project will be visible by default. You don't need to create a workflow to do this anymore.
What’s more, you can now specify a list of user groups that will be suggested to issue creators in a visibility menu. This new feature will especially benefit large organizations with many project teams.
Experienced YouTrack users may already be used to configuring the visibility for issues, comments, and attachments for several user groups.
Now, you can also configure the visibility of tags, saved searches, agile boards and reports for multiple user groups. This makes it easier to share everything you need to collaborate with your team members.
The issue list design has been updated to make statuses in issue fields more visible. You will see the design change when using a detailed M or L view on issues list.
Workspace options let you preview and choose how YouTrack looks for you personally: choose between light and dark schemes, and adjust the field and link panel positions as you see fit.
We’ve minimized the steps to get started with boards. Select a Scrum, Kanban, Mixed, Personal, Version-based, or Custom board, choose a name, and add at least one project to be displayed on the board. Your board will be up and running in no time.
Sometimes you need to file an issue that is similar to an existing one. Now you can make a draft based on an existing issue, with the new “Clone issue as draft” action. Edit the fields and the description in the draft and make sure everything is correct before submitting your new issue.
