Variable viewer

The Variable viewer tool allows you to explore the variables and their values used in a notebook.

note

You cannot use the tool with view access to the notebook.

View notebook variables

1. Press Alt,0+,Shift,0+,Enter to run the notebook.

2. Open the variable viewer by clicking the icon on the left-side sidebar or selecting Variable viewer under Tools from the main menu.

3. Explore the list. You can click any item to view the attributes, methods, and built-in functions for each variable.

The variable viewer works differently with different modes:

• Jupyter mode: global variables are shown. Variables deleted from the code remain in the variable viewer until the next kernel restart or their explicit deletion (with the del keyword).

• Reactive mode: cell scope variables are shown. Variables deleted from the code are not shown after the next recalculation.
