Nested assignment
Warning
Last modified: 03 December 2024Reports assignment expressions that are nested inside other expressions.
Such expressions may be confusing and violate the general design principle, which states that any construct should do precisely one thing.
Example:
String userName;
// Warning: result of assignment to 'userName' is used
String message = "Hello " + (userName = "Alice") + "!"
System.out.println(message);
System.out.println("Goodbye " + userName);
- By ID
Can be used to locate inspection in e.g. Qodana configuration files, where you can quickly enable or disable it, or adjust its settings.
