are always logged in to TeamCity,
receive notifications only on the specific events,
monitor the desired projects in the Windows Tray.
Installing Windows Tray Notifier
To install Windows Tray Notifier:
Navigate to My Settings & Tools page, TeamCity Add-ons area and click the download link under Windows tray notifier.
Wait while the plugin is downloaded.
Run the executable file.
Working with Windows Tray Notifier
After installing Windows Tray Notifier, you can keep on working in the IDE but effortlessly stay-up-to date with the most recent changes in the project code base.
The Notifier icon appears in Windows System Tray as soon as you launch Windows Tray Notifier. It shows the status of projects which you (or may be TeamCity Administrator) have selected to monitor. The status icon changes to reflect the state of the watched projects and build configurations. Here is a list of possible states of the build configurations.

Build failed, nobody has taken responsibility | |
Some team member has taken responsibility for the build failure | |
Responsible for the build failure has submitted a fix, but the build has not executed successfully yet | |
Build configuration is paused, and builds are not triggered automatically |
A click on the status icon opens the TeamCity Quick View window.

Click the results or changes links to navigate to TeamCity's web interface (Build Results and Changes pages, respectively).

To avoid the information overload and customize the view of this window, you can customize the watched projects and build configurations:
Right-click the Notifier Icon and select Configure Watched Builds. You will get to TeamCity's Windows tray notifier settings page
Select the desired build configurations and events on which you want to be notified.
