GitLab CI/CD Integration	Update YouTrack issues based on the outcome of automated jobs that build and test your software using GitLab CI/CD. This integration is built as an extension to existing GitLab VCS integrations so you can set it up with minimal effort.

Rich Text Editing Tools in YouTrack Classic	The text formatting toolbar that is used in the Knowledge Base and YouTrack Lite is now available in YouTrack Classic. This gives you an easy alternative for styling text in issue descriptions, comments, and work items without using Markdown.
Sync Appearance with OS Option	A new option in the Appearance menu lets you synchronize your theme with the current preference for your operating system. Whenever your operating system switches from light mode to dark mode, this preference is automatically applied in YouTrack as well.
Image Editor Updates	YouTrack's built-in tool for editing images now includes an option that lets you toggle between the original image dimensions and a rescaled version that fits inside your viewport.
VCS Integration using Space Applications	VCS integrations with JetBrains Space now use applications for authorization. As a result, you no longer need to grant the integration permission to access Space using access tokens that are generated for your personal accounts.
Administration Menu Redesign	Our optimized Administration menu gives you quick access to settings you update with greater frequency. The redesigned Global Settings page groups settings that are dedicated to specific aspects of the application.
Similar Issues in YouTrack Lite	If you're working with the Lite interface in YouTrack, you now have the option to check a list of similar issues during issue creation. This feature helps you and your team report fewer duplicate issues and focus on your existing backlog.
Updated Permissions	We've made minor adjustments that reduce the total number of permissions that restrict access to operations in the Hub service. This includes the removal of specific permissions that allow granular access to services and roles.

Discontinued Features

Legacy REST API	Starting from our next major release (2021.3), YouTrack officially discontinues support for the legacy REST API. In doing so, we reach the conclusion of our efforts to sunset and deprecate this API. After the YouTrack 2021.3 release, all third-party integrations and external client applications must use the current YouTrack REST API. To help you identify external apps that still rely on the old REST API, we introduced an audit tool that monitors traffic to deprecated endpoints. Use this information to locate business-critical integrations that haven't been upgraded to use the current API and prioritize their migration. To learn more, see Monitor REST API Traffic. We contacted several vendors who build apps that integrate with YouTrack to make sure that they were aware of these changes and had ample time to transition to the new API. Most have assured us that they don't rely on the legacy REST API and will continue to work without interruption. Other integrations that we were unable to verify before the official cutoff date may no longer work as expected.
