Upgrading
This section provides detailed instructions on how to upgrade your License Vault to the commercial plan of your choice.
If you're still in doubt about which plan to choose, you may first want to refer to Choosing the right plan. You can also check out the Plans overview for more information about the features provided with each one.
note
To upgrade to a commercial plan, you need to have at least 50 active licenses supported by License Vault. Other requirements may apply depending on the plan you selected. See License requirements to learn more.
To upgrade to the Enterprise Floating plan, please contact our Sales team by following these steps:
Go to the License Vault settings page.
Click Review upgrade options.
You can find the button here if your trial is still active:
Or here if it has expired:
tip
You can upgrade while using your free trial or in the 2 months following the end of the trial period. If it expired more than 2 months ago, start another one and upgrade it or contact our Sales team for assistance.
Under Enterprise Floating, click Contact sales and drop us an email.
A Sales representative will help you tailor the plan to your team’s needs. You can expect them to ask the following questions:
How many licenses are you planning to distribute with License Vault? Which products are they for?
Would you like to enable True-Up for any of your products? You can enable it for any IDEs or .NET tools for which you have 10 or more licenses in your License Vault.
If you're planning to use True-Up, you can also request to customize the following settings:
Your True-Up limit, for which the default value is 30%.
Your True-Forward billing option.
How often would you like to be billed for License Vault? You can choose between monthly and quarterly billing. The same billing period applies for surcharge and True-Up fees.
You can upgrade to the Organization True-Up plan directly from your JetBrains Account.
note
If you later choose to switch to Enterprise Floating, you'll need to contact our Sales team.
Under Organization True-Up, click Continue with this plan.
If you already have enough licenses in your License Vault to meet the requirements for the Organization True-Up plan, click Next step and skip straight to step 6 of these instructions.
If the Next step button is grayed out, you don't have enough licenses and you'll need to add more before you can continue. Click Select licenses to do so.
Select the licenses you want to distribute with License Vault, making sure you meet the requirements.
Once you've selected all of the licenses you want to transfer to License Vault, click Apply selection.
Once you've added enough licenses, the Next step button on the previous screen will become available. Click it to proceed.
Specify your payment details. We'll use this payment method at the end of each billing period to charge you for any True-Up licenses you use. You will not be charged if you only use your prepaid licenses.
You can use a saved payment method or add a new one.
tip
If the licenses you selected in step 5 are directly assigned to users, they will be revoked from those users the moment you click Save and upgrade.
The affected users will need to activate their products again using the License Vault URL. Refer them to User guide: Activating a license for instructions.
Congratulations! You've successfully upgraded to Organization True-Up. This change will be reflected on your License Vault settings page.
Thanks for your feedback!
