Customize the Issues List
The Issues list shows a list of issues that match the search criteria that is defined in the search context and query. In the list view, you can customize the display to show information that is important to you or hide details that can become a distraction.
note
Experimental FeatureAn updated version of the Issues list is currently available on an experimental basis. The information provided here applies to the classic version of the page. To learn about the changes that are available in the experimental version, see Redesigned Issues List.
Set the Level of Detail
The toolbar has an option that lets you set the level of detail for issues in the list.

The following options are available:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Detailed view | Each issue is shown in a box. The following information is shown by default:
|
Compact view | This view displays the same information that is visible in the detailed view except for the issue description. |
One-line view | Each issue is shown on a single line in the list. The view is restricted to show only the following information by default:
|
Tree view | This view displays the same information that is visible in the one-line view. Issues that are subtasks of parent tasks are nested in a tree structure. If an issue that matches the current search context is a subtask of an issue that is outside the current search context, the parent task is shown in a lighter color. |
The following controls are available in all views:
Control | Description |
---|---|
![]() | Select one or more issues in the list. |
![]() | Watch (star) an issue. |
![]() | Expand the level of detail for a single issue. |
Set Field Visibility
In addition to the level of detail, you can set the visibility of issue fields in the list. This option lets you hide issue fields that are not important to you and reduce visual clutter.
note
Experimental FeatureThe experimental version of the Issues list uses an updated set of controls to set and change the visibility for custom fields. To learn how to customize field visibility in the experimental version, see Field Visibility Settings.
These settings only apply to your own account and do not affect the visibility of issue fields for other users.
To customize the issue fields that are shown in the list:
Click the Visibility settings button.
Select the fields you want to show in the list.
note
If you set the level of detail to one-line or tree view, the only fields you can select to show are Priority and Tag.
Deselect the fields you do not want to show in the list.
Click the Save button.
The list updates to show values for the selected fields.
