IDE Services 2024.4 Help

View User Settings

When a user is assigned multiple profiles with different settings, these settings can sometimes override each other, resulting in a complex and unique configuration.

To help manage this, the Aggregated Settings page lets you view and verify the final combination of settings for a particular user in a consolidated view. Here’s how you can use it:

Troubleshooting

Handle user issues with product access or incorrect settings. If a developer needs help with their settings, you can check their current configuration across various IDEs and then make adjustments either by assigning different profiles or editing profile settings as needed.

Testing

Before assigning profiles to real users, try them out on a test account to see how different profile settings combine. This way, you can catch and fix any conflicts beforehand.

  1. In the Web UI, open the Users page.

  2. Find the user whose settings you want to review and click on their username.

  3. Choose the Aggregated Settings tab.

  4. From the Available applications list, select the application for which you want to check the settings (for example, IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate).

    Select application
  5. Then, choose the application's build number, the operating system (OS) and the architecture of the user's machine. Ask the user for this information if troubleshooting their specific configuration.

Current user settings for the selected parameters will be displayed as follows:

    • VM options enabled

    • IDE settings selected

    • Plugins installed

    Setting displayed
  6. Click Full JSON on the right-hand side of the page to review, copy or download the JSON-formatted configuration file that contains all the settings. You may find it handy when searching for issues and making profile adjustments.
